  Jim, I was also given one of these Yagis many years ago and converted 
it to a single driven element with a coaxial stub beta match.  It is 
tuned for the low end of 2M.  IIRC, there was very little modification 
required except for the driver.  The EZnec model shows 15.05 dBi gain 
with an SWR of 1.07.  It's currently mounted about five feet above my 
four element Steppir and performs well, although the only time I hear 
anyone on 2M CW or SSB in these sparse parts is during VHF contests.  
Even then, it's a relative rarity.
