My 4-element SteppIR has been up for 13 years at 100ft. I'm sure we had
have some 60 mph wind gusts in that period. No problems until recently when
one of the element support tubes broke off at the EHU housing. Just wear
and tear - not attributable to any specific weather event. Will try to fix
but consider the SteppIR an excellent 13 year investment even if I junk it
at this point.

Howdy, TowerTalkians --

Does anyone have experience with SteppIR antennas and big winds? How
big were the winds? What survived? Tnx.

BTW my apologies for the previously posted KF7P newletter. Apparently
no good deed goes unpunished.

Cheers,
Steve K7LXC
