| A brief note on my experiences on 75-80 m: I have K9AY receive loops, a 
F12 Sigma 80 OCF vertical dipole, and an inverted V with the apex at 
about 40 ft and the ends about 10-12 ft above the ground. In my 
experience, any of these antennas can be best for receive -- it depends 
on the day. Often, the K9AY loops are quieter, but not always and the 
difference can be striking between antennas. For transmit, the inverted 
V wins hands down for anything inside of about 600 mi or so. Within that 
same range of about 600 mi, the Sigma 80 is always much worse as a 
transmit antenna. However, on DX, the Sigma 80 is far and away the 
better transmit antenna. 
For receive usually, but far from always, the K9AY loops are best. But I 
always check all the antennas for rx effectiveness and choose the best one.

My receiving beverage antennas 120-160m long are only good for
