What about the single operators? Was there a similar drop in contest activity
by that group of operators?

Jeff: I haven't looked at the # of log submission for the Single-Op categories
(yet) but I did look at the Average Score of the Top 10 in each category.
FM and SOQP/SO Portable not included below.

September Results Only

The "Combined Average Score of the Top Ten" in each category.

In 2000 the combined average score of the top ten (SOHP+SOLP) = 240K
In 2005 that # went up to 433K! (SOHP+SOLP) (total logs submitted = 630)
In 2010 = 234K (SOHP+SOLP)
In 2015 = 153K (now SOHP+SOLP+SO3B)
In 2017 = 134K (first year with FTx)
In 2018 = 93K (appears to be the lowest, total logs submitted = 569)
In 2019 = 144K (avg. score and # logs (691) increased)
In 2020 = 201K (record high # of total logs submitted = 833)
