Have you ever wondered where people are finding DX? Where your best friend
is?
Or perhaps what band is the best for contesting run rate? This application
is for you!

WhereRU is a simple client/server TCP/IP application which runs over the
internet.
It talks to Writelog and gets current frequency information, and updates the
WhereRU server periodically. The server then sends this information to
everyone in the group you specify.
Your information is private to your group only. Your IP address is only
known to the server.
In addition to frequency information, you can pass along text to other
members of your group,
like packet or ICQ, etc.

Currently, I have one WhereRU Server running at my qth, qth.w1ve.com. This
is on a 56K line,
and will support quite a few users. If you are interested in hosting a
server, let me know and I'll send you a server install.

WhereRU uses port 8938 -- if you are behind a firewall, you'll need to
enable communiations through that port.

WhereRU is freeware.

The WhereRU webpage is at http://www.w1ve.com/whereru

You can download the setup directly at http://www.w1ve.com/whereru/setup.zip

73,

Gerry, W1VE

PS: For those waiting for my Acom 2000 control software -- it is still very
much in the works.
I have enlisted help from another developer in the project (In fact, a
non-ham in Bulgaria.) This
should hopefully help to get it completed very quickly.
