Well, part of the problem is solved. I plugged in the little remote =
potentiometer and I can now adjust the speed very conveniently. =20
The remaining problem is that pressing the ESC key to stop sending stops =
the W5XD multikeyer and it won't send again (from the program or the =
paddle) until I cycle the power on the multikeyer.

Subject: [WriteLog] W5XD/K5DJ Multi-Keyer stops
I'm trying to use a W5XD/K5DJ multikeyer for the first time with =
WriteLog 10.28C. It't not working very well for me.
I'm using Windows XP and a serial port to the Multi-Keyer and on to my =
ICOM rig control. The rig control seems to work fine, whether the =
MultiKeyer is on or off. So far so good.
I can use the paddle to key the rig. I can press F11 and my CQ =
message gets sent. But if I press the ESC key to stop sending, or press =
ALT-F10 to speed up the CQ (it's way too slow), the Multi-Keyer stops =
sending and won't send again when I press F11 or any other function key, =
and the paddle stops working. If I turn off power to the Multi-Keyer =
and turn it back on again, I can send CW again until I press ESC or try =
to adjust the speed.
The speed is very slow, around 10-12 WPM. I'd like to send about =
28-32 WPM. But I can't adjust the speed with Alt-F10 without having the =
keyer go comatose.
This is the first time I've connected the Multi-Keyer up.
Is this a known problem with the Multi-Keyer, or have I fallen into a =
common user error, or do I need to send this particular Multi-Keyer back =
for replacement or repair?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm piddling around in SS but would =
like to use the program for CQ WW. I bought the Multi-Keyer solely =
because I wanted to use Windows 2000/XP and wanted to use a robust =
keying solution. The one I've got now isn't working at all. =20
