It is certainly possible, but unlikely. Rig manufacturers won't even spend
the money to put a functional RS-232 serial port in rigs costing $3K.
Instead of putting a MAX232 and 4 capacitors *inside* the rig (at a cost of
$1 or so), you are expected to spend >$100 for a CT-17 box to make it all
happen outside of the rig. The whole issue of computer control of rigs
(which are essentially computers inside) seems to have rot received much
thought from most of the manufacturers. Icom in the 756 Pro series, for
example, despite being able to set more than 100 parameters (including such
essentials such as pilot light illumination level) doesn't let you set the
frequency of the inactive VFO remotely. Doh....
