Sorry, Bob, but I've had no solution to the similar problem I had with the 10 
meter contest a few weeks ago.  IN THEORY, you should be able to go to 
"Contests" and "Parameter Setup" and make an appropriate entry for your QTH.  
In my version (10.26 I believe) the dialog box allows for 4 or 5 characters 
(although the space allotted is even greater).  There is no diagnostic as to 
whether the entry is correct (I was able to enter "VA" or "VIRG" and both 
were accepted, although neither apparently worked.  It seems to be the same 
for the RRU contest you mentioned.

I thought it might be an error in my version of the program which is too old 
for free update, but never got a reply to an email I sent to K5DJ regarding 
update info.

I was able to submit my log by changing an assigned serial number to "VA" 
which the robot accepted, but never was able to compute my score.
