I believe you will find it is the 752 Inrad filter. Designed for Sideband BFO freq.instead if cw Bfo freq. Works great in 1K filter slot in Orion. Mark

I have the same issue and it IS the filter in my case. 217 filter. Replacement filter solves issue. Does anyone know the capacitor values on the board as mine are not marked? Thank you for any advice

One work around is to purchase the INRAD #762 filter and place it in the 1000Hz slot(removing the 1000Hz filter, of course). On mine with V2 firmware, the 600 Hz filter will then come on at 1000Hz...
