The way I read your comment, is the only competition you have in the pileups is from other SteppIR users and everyone with other antennas will be second tier. Is this what you are saying ? John KK9A

Radiation angle comes from ground reflection and it has nothing to do with the yagi's design. Testing different yagis at the same height in the same location is a fair test. John KK9A <snip> Yeah I d

The interlaced beam suffer from interaction from the elements of other bands. When you are on 15m the 20m directors look a little like a reflector. So, the gain is less for this type of tribander on

Proper guy wire tension will not help your contest score. Yes, they work very well, and I am ordering one, but I need a way to get the tension close.. temporarily. I have to have this done by Friday

No one will be able to answer your question without knowing the load you intend to put on the tower and without doing the engineering work. You definitely can have less than 80% guy anchor radius, ho

I agree that the pier pin lets the guys do the work and it is the best base for large tower. I don't think the pier pin base will do anything to minimize tower twisting. The best way to stop the twis

I guess you are saying that the base will rotate before the tower breaks. I don't think that much torque makes it to the base on a tall tower. Certainly the pier pin base will not prevent your tower

Actually the F/B of a 15m beam is very effected by a nearby 20m, since the 20m directors look a little like reflectors on 15m. This is can be clearly seen in a model and it has nothing to do with the
