Soapbox: Everybody notes the poor band conditions which affects
contesters in different ways. When I heard that the A index was 36, I
briefly hallucinated that a S/O win from the west coast was possible if
the East coast couldn't work Europe. The RF demons lifted the curse,
though so that the usual East Coast to Europe paths existed. Oh well...
In contests such as these a contester can either curse the RF darkness
or try to light up the candles and see what can be worked. For me this
turned into an exercise in mult hunting except for the relatively brief
Europe openings on 20M where significant runs/pileups could be induced.
The runs reminded me of a near out of control AC/DC concert.
The mults from West coast were meager...2 Euros on 40M and 3 on 80???
Yes, Alice...its true...but we'll see what the W6's did on the low bands
before judgement is passed.
Slept from around 0800Z to 1300Z since there was nobody new to work
then from here on each day. Guess the punch line is that every contest is
a learning experience. Lessons learned from this one will be expounded on
at a later time.
    73 and I remain, Lew
