The propagation was not too good, very poor to JA - which gives a big benefit
to western-Europeans. It is like if you are in Ohio and want to compete with
guys in Mass or SC. It is nonsense.
As a matter of fact after many hundred thousands of contest QSOs, it is first
time in my life I have run CQ WW SO - All bands. It is curious but in early 70s
I had no antennas to be on all bands so I was single banding, late 70s and
complete 80s we were always M/S as OK5R and in 90s there was always antenna for
one important band down so I was single banding. Actually to single band has
its benefits since you have better feeling of the utilization of the time and
band. Here I had all the time the feeling I am doing something wrong. When I
was on 15 I had the feeling I should be on 10 or 20. When I was digging out the
mults on 80 I felt that to run pileup on 40 would be better etc.
73 !
