This contest was expected to have better propagation
than the CW contest, but as it turned out Murphy was
the winner. Friday night the rain static was the hold
up on the lower bands, then Saturday morning brought
snow static (I think we had 2-3 inches of rain then close
to 4 inches of snow from Friday night to Saturday morning).
By the time the bands folded on Sunday we were not as
disappointed when the TIC Ring quit turning (potentiometer
failed on position). As Mike W9RE stated, it was wierd
hearing the west coast work european stations I could not
even hear.. As the contest was winding down the primary
Alpha 87A bit the dust, it turned out that it was only a
connector problem in the filament circuit (a big thanks
to Karl ar Alpha Power for helping out and saving me a
service trip!!). All in all we had a great time.

73's,

Kevin WN9O
