Soapbox:
Got off to a late start at about 18:00z and only intended to hand out a
few Zn 3 multipliers, but conditions were so good I stayed and played for
about 12 hours. I managed to improve on last years score despite
the fewer hours in the chair.

It was nice to see some 10m activity, mostly N-S from SK. 15m was open to
a wide range of areas, so I paid a penalty for the late start. Only real
exception on 15 was little or no opening to JA. I managed only 1 contact
in the log and that one took a long time and a lot of effort for a single
mult. 20m was open very nicely to Eu most of the afternoon and evening
(20:00z right up to 06:00z). It played well to a bunch of other areas and
was generally more of what I would have expected at the top of the sun spot
cycle. 40, 80 & 160 were VERY tough. Local storms had the QRN levels above
S9 all evening. Managed a few on 40, mostly CW and only a couple on 80 & 160.

Great work Dave, VE2ZP and Chris, VE3FU on not only working all the WRTC
stations, but a great score as well. I managed to bag a few of the WRTC
participants. I hope they all had an enjoyable time and look forward to
hearing how the Canadian teams faired.

As always, thanks to those who dropped by to exchange QSOs. Nice to meet
all the regulars and the new ones as well. See you all in the next one.

73, Bart - VE5CPU
