Comments:

I had to work Saturday and Sunday daytime, so no big effort was planned. I
started out on 80 M making 29 Q's in 75 minutes and got tired of the struggle,
so I tried 40 at 0155Z. Sigs on 40M were 30-40db better from Eu than on 80M. As
the test wore on, I decided to just go single band 40M. I was able to break all
of the Eu/Middle East and Carribbean pile-ups pretty easily. The guys with the
good antennas in Southern Eu were really loud throughout the test. Northern Eu
was quite weak past 0230Z first night and all evening except around sunset 2nd
night. UA4/UA9 were nearly nonexistent in the evening. At the end of the test N
Eu was coming thru well. I had a good run from 22Z til 0030Z the 2nd night and
was called by a weak UN7MO and later found UN5P under Eu. A45XR, 9K2HN, and
A61AJ were loud and easy to work. I was called by 4K9W and found 4K5CW. The best
ears of the test go to VR2BG who was weak and watery Sunday AM. At times running
was easy. Early in the evening the clicks/overload hampered copy, but the band
was never really wall to wall QRM. All in all it was more fun than Phone SS or
CQWW.
