Comments:

I dont know what happened. Just couldn't get into the groove and kept finding
myself wandering around up and down the bands on both radios. 10 had a nice
opening for a while, but I guess I didnt stick around long enough to pick up the
mults. Worked the heck out of 15 and 20 until what seemed like the bottom fell
out. When 15 died, it was dead. I heard 4 other stations calling CQ on 40
meters at 5:00, unbelievable it came to that. I switched to 20 and 40 when 15
had a fork stuck in it, and started running good, but I guess by that time, I'd
dropped off too far to make an attempt to keep up with Don. I took off from
7:00 to 8:00, and came back to find the same dupes on the same bands again. I
dont know what Im doing in missing the mults. Things were REALLY hard to hear
on 80, but I stuck with it thinking that I'd gain those precious mults. I think
I wasted more time trying to hear stations that could hear me but I just lost in
the static, which was 10 over at times. My NW 80 array was out, and there's no
true omni 80m antenna (really!!), so that hurt me to the west.

I like the Feb contest much more then this one. Even with an increase of
participants, its just too slow for me to keep interest in like Feb or CQ.
Congrats again to Don, who told me to make a run for it since he was on call,
that didnt seem to work for me! Anyone know a boss at Caprock?! Think the
systems offshore need to break down each contest weekend.

Some changes are coming at The Camp. Don's article in NCJ really got Pat to
thinking, and I might get a rebuild of the shack sooner then later. First thing
that HAS to go are the FT1000's, which of the several radio's I've used for
RTTY, those have got to be the WORST. I suppose they're good for CW, but from
now on, I'm toting the 850 and Pro2 out there, I just cant stand the filtering
in RTTY mode on those Yaesus. Too much ringing, and the Low/High=TwinPBT tuning
feature on them just doesnt work. Either the low's are too loud or the highs
are too loud, I just cant seem to find a happy medium when someone comes and
parks next to me.

Thanks to Gary, KH6GMP who moved from 20 to 40 for me. My only move. Thank
goodness for a 4 ele 40m NW atenna. Im going to get into the msg's from now on
and make a move one so that its easier to keep the rythm, but get the move
quicker.

Thanks to David for assembling the team. I didnt read the confirmation email
before taking off to get setup, so I had no idea on the final team.

73 and see yall in the next one.
