Comments:
A seriously stupid contest effort !
Who, in their right mind, would do a significant multi-op effort with 20 watts
on 2 meters, 200 miles from the nearest metropolitan area, from a mediocre VHF
QTH ?
This was a real low-budget effort, using whatever stuff W5GZ and I could hobble
together from our VHF-challenged junkboxes.
477 QSO's on 6 on Saturday. 9 QSO's on 6 on Sunday. The highs and lows of VHF
contesting ! Only a handful of double-hop QSO's. No W1, W2, W3 heard.
6 meters - TS-950SDX, TenTec transverter, Lunar Electronics brick, 75 watts, 5
elements homebrew.
2 meters - Yaesu FT-480R, broken Heathkit non-linear, 20 watts, 17 element
CushCraft.
432 MHz - Yaesu FT-780R, Mirage amp, 100 watts, 13 non-functional elements.
Thanks for the QSO's - it actually was fun !
73,
Steve, N2IC/5
