Comments:

I was going to make a serious effort in this one but unexpected family
commitments got in the way. The timing was such that 4 of my 7 hours had to be
spent on 40 and 80. Oh well, I suppose it's good for the character.

I had hoped that K7C would be on but no such luck, it seemed.

Some of the SO2R guys were a real pain in the butt. When S&P I'd tune in a nice
strong sig but not quickly enough to print the call. Wait 15-30 sec while he
dicks around with the 2nd radio. After a few times of hanging around until they
deigned to call CQ again I gave up. No CQ or other activity for 5 secs since
the last one - I'm gone. Lots of guys missed an easy VE7 mult.

Say, seeing as how they weren't active on the frequency, maybe I should have
called CQ there after a couple of QRL's.

It's kinda funny how different styles of operating have different needs. The
S&P guy needs folks to call CQ frequently while the SO2R guy needs to balance
working mults with keeping his run frequency.

Having missed the 20m am opening to Eu on Sat and very late to it on Sun, it was
nice to be working them from 10 am to 1 pm local time. Lots of flutter, though,
which made S7 signals tough to copy, even with the Polar or Multipath settings
in RITTY. 20 was open to Eu at 1 am local time on Sat but was only able to make
1 Q. Signals were plenty loud enough but I suspect that no one was looking my
way.

A lot of guys have amazingly good ears. Thanks for being patient and pulling me
through.

73, Jim VE7FO
