The overall score and mults have improved from last year and this is already a
good trend. Some improvements to the station from last summer helped to achieve
that.
Weather was not helpful though, it was drizzling rain non-stop during the whole
contest period which certainly added difficulties on low bands (apart from
traditional QRN). I had hard time to copy stations especially on second night.
Do not think overall propagation was better this year, but Sunday midnight 20m
to NA became a real nice surprise. It was not wide open but G and VE3 path was
open at least for 2 hours Iâ??ve managed to observe and work few pileups.
Caribbean were simply booming, very loud signals.
15m was open exclusively to EA from Europe, at the same time have managed to
work some good mults from Asia/pacific.
I am really anxious to see how the CW leg will go with much more experienced
operator(s)using this call.
