Comments:
I had a feeling this was going to be a rough night after my SNS experience
confirmed what the VOACAP plot foretold: I'd only be working those in TX and LA
on 40M. An unexpected work project meant my vacation has been postponed a week,
so I didn't debut the 40/80M dipole tonight as I'd hoped. Thus, the first 10
minutes was quite a struggle. I finally was moving at a better than one QSO per
minute rate on 80M during the second 10 minute period, but I was too late with
my QSY to 160M (0254Z)--which was packed with enough activity for me to log six
contacts in relatively short order with the 80M inverted L.
Thanks to everyone for the QSOs!
Rigs: K3, TS-940S (second radio good for my two 40M QSOs)
Antennas: 43 ft. vertical (40m) with a trap on top for the 80M inverted L;
Hy-gain AV-14AVQ vertical
73,
Joe
