Comments:
My first contact in this contest was my first on 160 Meters. The receiver noise
on Friday night was bad, but I could hear stations, however I would call and
call and it seemed like very few could hear me. My first thought was "Now
I know why so many use HP amps." My antenna is an OCF dipole for 160. I
feed it with 75 ohm cable and have a tuner. I worked about 5 hours on Friday
night. After the NAQPRTTY contest on Saturday night, I started back on 160.
Noise was not as bad. I still had trouble being heard. If I am to continue on
160, I must come up with a better TX antenna.
