With 10M clearly out of the mix, and suddenly 20M returning to its traditional
role as the money band after being bested by 15M for quite a while, surely
we're on the downhill slide now.
But I'll submit this in defense of the bands: that was a blast. Missed any big
15M European polar openings on Saturday, but they were there on Sunday. 40M was
amazingly strong around daybreak Sunday with Asia and VK sounding like nextdoor,
though didn't work much over the pole either evening on 40M.
Sunday afternoon was brutally poor from here, with CQs in any direction going
unanswered for several hours on 15M and 20M. Things perked up again in the
final couple of hours.
Set a new personal best in score, Qs and QSO points (4,109), but fell just
short of the 675 previous-best mult total from 2012.
With 31 hours on, I pushed harder than I have in any of the past five outings
in this one. Managed to get lots of sleep at the right times, and cooler wet
weather made it easier to be inside for two days at this time of year...
watched the lawn growing just outside the shack windows and felt no guilt.
