Comments:
Well that was A LOT of fun. My second season using High Power. I am
definately
enjoying the difference. Still trying to "find the groove" but
enjoying the
experience. Last year, I was happy with QSOs but not with mults. The
experience
was almost overwhelming given the run rates and continually thining I was
behind
on mults. Ths year I tried to better balance the mix. Now I feel down on Qs.
I will get there - eentually.
The conditions were definately not nearly as strong on 10M as the last few
years.
I especially thing the stations further south hadthe advantage. I heard K1LZ
running 10M and working stations that I could not hear, earlier by at least
30 mins each day. Also, the depth was not nearly as strong. Last year, the
stations were all the way up to 29050 on Saturday. This year I don't remember
in the 28700 range, let alone up to 29000.
160 was pretty much "el stinko" for the contest. Last year, I felt
that I missed
an opportunity to run on 160 and regretted it. This year I ran when I wanted
to
on 160, and see today that I was spotted. But nothing. Oh well.
Its what makes this game so much fun. Always changing.
I had a very nice JA run on 15M on Saturday evening. Many of the signals were
on the noise floor. I couldn't help but feeling that "that could be
it" on 15M
to JA for many years. I hope that I am wrong.
I am happy with the antennas. Its the deccisions and the stamina of pushing
the runs for the 48 hours thats the part to keep working on now. You can't
make the opening start when you want or whether you will be as loud as people
in other geos. You can only maximize the hand you are delt. My goal is to
feel that way after each contest.
See you in the CQWW CW.
