Comments:
Lots of QRN here, so I apologize profusely to all who tried to answer my CQ and
got no response. I could hear some people calling, but I just couldn't strain
my ears to grab your call. And, it was embarrassing to have trouble with
certain 'big gun' calls through the atmospheric racket here.
What a great thrill to work so many non-members: Ted W8UE; Bob K0RC; Vlad
KM6Z; Iz W0IZ; Tom N6NF; Bob W9ZV; Gary K8NYG; good ole' Mr. Greenbeer (AKA
Scotty) W7SW; Gene NT2A...and then there was Ken KK6GHA, our trusty CWA member!
Let's go grab some of these folks and bring them into the family (after we've
worked them a couple of times, of course).
Thanks, also, to Alf, IT9MUO, for showing up on 40m with such a hefty signal.
And, finally...juxtaposed with all the excitement of working my fellow CWOps
members, my heart is heavy as lead due to the news today about the sudden
passing of our dear friend, Gary, AL9A. I kept listening and listening for him
tonight, but... May you rest in eternal peace, Gary. And, thank you for all
the joy you have brought this congregation of CW enthusiasts who became
overjoyed each time we could hear your call piercing the ionosphere and landing
in our speakers.
73 all,
