Comments:
The 40M rotary dipole was taken down two years ago, and now has been rebuilt and
put back up at 30 meters. Unfortunately, a new computer that was purchased
during the week before the contest was disappointing and returned to the
dealer. The contest was run on a little netbook travel computer. As the
contest progressed, the increased data caused it to become slower and slower
until finally during the last hours, it took at least one second after
depressing 'enter' for the computer to respond. The radio is a Yaesu FT-1000D.
Using a homebrew 4-1000 amplifier, and a WinKeyer USB which is a great
accessory for interfacing the computer with the radio and turning on the
amplifier.
