Comments:

I have been coming to Bonaire to operate the CQWW DX CW Contest as PJ4A since
2007. I hadn't planned on coming down this year. John,K4BAI, had Eric K9ES and
Chuck , AD4ES, joining him this time and planned for some single band efforts
which is a departure from our usual M2X. A couple weeks before the departure
date John decided he wasn't up to making the trip this time. He asked me to go
in his place to help the guys setup their stations. The station layout is
complicated for someone who hasn't operated there before.

Chuck decided to do 40 meter single band using PJ4I and Eric did 20 meters as
PJ4E. I told them I would just take one of the bands they weren't using. I
chose 15 meters. I didn't really expect much since we are near the bottom of
the sunspot cycle. I turned out that 15 meters was the best band all weekend
with great conditions from the north coast of South America. When 15 meters
died I managed to make some additional contacts on 160 and 80 meters.

Congrats to PP5JR at ZW5B. I tracked him on the online scoring page but
couldn't quite catch up to him. He had a longer band opening than I did and the
multipliers he worked was the difference.

Not sure if I will be able to make it back to Bonaire in the future but if this
was my last trip it sure ended great.

Jeff PJ4A/KU8E
