Comments:
X-ray flux is meager at the B/C-borderline level,
but there happened to be a short C6-flare at the
start of the 1300Z session. More geophysical 'zap'
was experienced from the Aurora intensifying for
hours to come to a K=5 level of over 80 gigawatts.
Signals from Jim SM2EKM were wide, phase-modulated
by the effect and the only signal on 28 MHz.
Getting to USA on 14 MHz was tough, and not much
easier on 21 MHz. It got more and more difficult
during the hour. Spent 5 minutes calling on 28 MHz
without response. Last 15 minutes of CWT a grand
total of 8 QSO's with OK1OA and PC4H as the last
ones on 14 MHz after a major gap without loggings.
Back from the OH1ZAA-location where a sloper wire
(almost identical to this one at OH5ZA) was used
after last week's CWT's. The difference for radio
wave reflection from the building, is the wooden
house at the seaside and this concrete apartment
with embedded steel up the hill at the big lake.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
