Comments:
I had high hope the weeks leading up to this contest with the great improvement
in sunspots. But as we got closer, I thought it could be a bust. There was a
forecast for a severe geomagnetic storm for Friday night. Then we had the big
flare a few hours before the start.
I was mistaken. The first hour brought in some good mults from Asia, that was
not repeated again. The Saturday morning European opening was incredible. I
frequently had so many calling I could not pick out calls. Sunday was slower,
but I think I had worked a lot of them Saturday.
I was amazed at how many stations sent 5W out of Europe, and quite a few from
JA. The number of 50 and 100 W exchanges was high too.
It seemed that the multipliers were down. I would have expected about 115-120
will 1100 QSOs and the cluster but only made 100.
It is weekends like this that make 10 Meters my favorite band.
