Hi gang,
  I agree with Carl on this one. The MLA 2500 was/is a good amp. I ran
one for several years, only having to replace the filter caps and
rectifiers once. I sold it about 3 weeks ago, still in working condition
for about what I payed for it used. The biggest problem was the tube
prices went up and made un-attractable. It is still popular with the
folks going on expeditions because of its physical size. With the
modification's available using the Sevetlana tube its gaining popularity
again, especially with the VHF guys making single band 6 meter amps.
 As I have mentioned before I have opened up new Henry's to find they
would not work out of the box. So I guess you can get a lemon in
anything.
