I was told that the only way you can damage a tube with too much air is if
you physically blow it out of the socket..............

But if you cut up a cardboard box and mount the tube socket and a candidate
blower on it, you can use a manometer to check if the blower is good/quiet
enough for the job under something close to real conditions, without the
cost and trouble of cutting metal.
