To all who responded to my original posting: thanks!
I am not sure why... but my L7 is happy now with its 2 new Eimacs.
It suddenly started working OK after I 'played' with it a bit, and
it has not quit. Could easily have been operator error..... !
With line voltage at 243 VAC, 2650V on the plates, and 100W drive,
my peak output power is:
160, 80, 75 and 40 Meters, about 1150 watts
30 through 15 meters, about 1 kW
12 and 10 meters, about 900 watts. (drive power may be off a bit on 10,
using an IC756 running at 13.4 V, no DC sag, but not always a full buck)
Average plate current, 320 mA.
Is this about right? Anybody have a stock L7 to compare against? I was
hoping for just a smidgen more smoke out of two 3-500Z bottles.
Measurements taken from an Autek WM-1 calibrated against a Bird 43,
and into a dummy load. Single-tone SSB.
Tnx Steve KZ1X/4
