Yes, the mercury vapor rectifiers, and what ever was in the lower
voltage regulator tubes were fun to watch.
The rectifiers were were bright/less so in purple; while the regulators
were more, well what, red-purple, maroon, not sure, but beautiful!
And those glowing plates of the RF and audio amp tubes were
really something.
Unfortunately, after several moves about the US, and then retiring
out here to Kauai, all the heavy iron is gone, sad.
