Harald,
RCA was famous for having frquency markings that reflected only their
intended use of the load. The only true test is with power and a SWR
bridge but I'm willing to bet it will work fine from 2-450MHz or so as
long as the resistor has not changed value.
My own shop load was similar. RCA had it marked 450-950 MHz. It had a
long tapering nose piece terminating in a N connector, a opening for a
Bird slug and a cable going to a remote 2500W meter. It works just fine
from 160M to the 903MHz USA ham band and the VSWR is still under 1.5:1 at
1296MHz.
I bought it all at a hamfest for $75 since other hams were afraid of the
frequency marking! Once I got it home I found a pair of 2500W slugs
inside the meter case; 200-500MHz and 400-1000MHz !
