4KW Linear Amplifier Power Supply Kit
The following components I have purchased new or used to build a
robust power supply for a large linear amplifier project. I have
since acquired the amplifier I always wanted and this project is
off the burner. Let my canceled project be your gain. $475 plus UPS
shipping and insurance for two packages totaling approximately
110lbs. The "kit" consists of:
Peter Dahl power transformer, model Drake L4B-HVT-1.8RH. Cost
$365.00 new. Primary taps are 210-220-230-240-250 VAC. Secondary
taps are 2500-2860-3215-3570 VAC. Transformer is rated at 1.8 amps
ICAS/1.2 amps CCS. Weight is 65 pounds, new.
Two GE Dielektrol 32F2023-G11, 32mF oil-filled capacitors rated at
4500 vdc. They have been hi-pot tested to 7KV. These capacitors are
3.5"x4.5"x11" and there are no PCBs in the oil.
Two Dale RW47V164 160K, 210W ceramic bleeder resistors. These are
10 1/2" long and 1 1/4" in diameter with solder tabs at each end.
Two 24vac DPST 240VAC, 30A Potter Brumfield PRD-7AYO-24 relays for
primary control and step-start, new.
Two Ohmite 25ohm, 25W wirewound ceramic resistors and mounting kits
for step-start circuit.
24vac SPDT 240VAC, 30A Dayton 367G relay for selecting high-low
primary tap, new.
Potter-Brumfield W68-X2Q12-25, 25A High Speed Magnetic Circuit
Breaker, new.
Heavy duty ceramic SP4T High Voltage switch for selecting secondary
tap.
15ft of High Voltage wire rated at 6KV, new.
Two sets of Millen male and female HV connectors, new.
Two Cherry 13G SPST interlock switches.
Two Simpson 2.5" square panel meters, 0-1mA and 0-500uA.
SAFETY FIRST: These components can be assembled to form a system
for producing LEATHAL VOLTAGES. If you have any reservation about
your skill, experience or respect for working with power circuits
capable of killing you, please don't consider this kit. I am not
interested in selling this package at you or your family's expense.
