I prefer an "instant on" type of tube. With Packetcluster most everywhere, it's amazing how big a pileup can get while waiting for that 3 minute warm-up! I've also found that tuning tetrode amps for good linearity is very critical and not intuitive. My choice would be something like the 3CX1200 types.
