I would use a 4c5000/10000 as rich suggested at half plate volts, look
at the price of the 4cx1600, the 4cx10000 is a bargain even new, and
has a "A"  type warranty, you can aslo have them rebuilt.  Ham type
tubes burn out like light globes, a large tetrode would outlast most
of us in ham service. Besides that you would have a clean signal. Just
check out the splatter from these new amps with EBS circuits, 

Besides in winter you can connect this tube to a Bird water load and
feed your Hydronic heater system if you are worried about running high
power.
