Re wire sizes and material.

'PTFE' is polytetrafluoroethylene, or Teflon.

'swg' is 'Standard Wire Gauge'. 22SWG is .028 inches in diameter for bare
wire; enamelled will be a little bigger, about .0303 inches in diameter.

There was an article in CQ the other year about converting swg; I just look
up the tables.

For bare wire.

10swg is 0.128 inch dia
12          0.104
14          0.08
16          0.064
18          0.048
20          0.036
22          0.028
24          0.022
26          0.018
28          0.0148
30          0.0124
32          0.0108
34          0.0092
36          0.0076
38          0.006
40          0.0048

It's unusual to see the odd numbered gauges. There are thinner wires than
40,
but I don't have details, although I do have some 44 swg at home.
