I'm sorry but I can't sit idly by and watch this un-warranted attack. I =
know that Rich can defend himself rather well but there are some of us =
that feel a few extra dB's are needed.
I have not known Rich to advertise, (other than saying he had them), =
and when he did mention them, he offered them to those that could try =
first and pay later. If not convinced, return them!=20
I have not had the experience of building an amp (with or without =
handles!), nor do I own one that has the aforementioned defects that has =
been shared throughout this thread, (I have an old RCA Maritime Radio =
amp SBA-1K).
There isn't any doubt that the topics Rich shares with us, are =
extremely stimulating, (and at times frustrating) along with the ad-lib =
comments, (some would say ad nauseum, HI, HI). I truly feel that Rich =
is trying to spread the wealth rather than reap it. I'm certain that it =
would take a long while to try and make any significant money from the =
sale of nichome parasitic chokes and glitch resistors. If anything, his =
comments about the availability of said items were probably misconstrued =
as an advertisement.=20
I personally haven't seen, nor read anything that contradict his =
statements.
I hate like heck stepping up on a soapbox like this but I felt that =
something needed to be said.

Rich's original article in Ham Radio sounded plausible and conclusive. =
It would fix all parasitic problems. But, then, another article was =
published by Rich, who said that he had heard from a number of people =
who still had parasitic problems - so a better cure was developed.

I am curious if installing a "glitch" resistor, as recommended by tube =
manufacturers, along with "magnetic therapy" would cure many of the =
parasitics. It may be that the nichrome wire used has some particular =
quality that breaks up the magnetic field created by the normal =
parasitic suppressor. A strong magnetic field might eliminate =
parasitics. For only $29.95, I will sell you 2 refrigerator magnets =
with "AG6K" embossed on them, along with instructions on where to place =
them to reduce or eliminate parasitics. =20
