[AMPS] 4-1000 is this a good tube?+

Hank,
My old Elmer, Eric, WB4VVI (SK), was adamant about running 5KV on a pair
of 813's. I asked him how would they survive. He said they were good to 2500
VDC in AM, hence your voltage swing with modulation would be 5KV. Therefore,
5KV on a pair of 813's in SSB was easily, (his claim, not mine!) obtained.
My only problem is you have to be extremely careful while tuning up. One
slight mis-match and your 813's are toast! We were working together on
making such an amplifier but he went SK before we could take it from the
drawing board and apply it.
