Correct, if anyhting, by having a larger coil, it increases tank circuit Q. It
is a technique that allows the use of a practical sized capacitor and coil,
though. I've never seen it used on anything above 6146 size. For 813's (where I
presume 30MHz is the upper frequency) the series coil technique is probably good
enough. Or push pull.
