I own a Viewstar.
Gives good service. The plate blocking capacitor died, replaced with a
bigger one. Capacitor stack also died and took ht rectifier with it, not
unexpected in view of the age of the unit.
Otherwise no problems.
Works well, TVI problems minimal.
Mine has nominal 3kV on anodes on a good day (mains supply here is not
great).
Have been told that the original design was by B&W.
