Neither are European engineers, I bought it second hand two years ago =
for
less than a new Skoda Felicia (VW Polo clone made in the Czech =
republic),
with 80K miles on it and looking as good as new. So far I've had the
privilege to drive one of the best engineered cars in the world, had
absolutely no problems, and great gas (diesel) mileage, all at much =
lower
cost per mile than your average dinky Japanese or US "economy" cars.
In my book that is a very sound engineering decision!
