Jaime says:
>separated with a high Q network and no problems
I think that certainly explains why! the high Q network reduces the EMP energy
enormously, and of course, helps prevent intermodulation and cross modulation.
But I expect modern amplifiers have plenty of protection built in - narrow band
antennas and tuners help.
At the end of the day, I guess 'you pay your money and you take your choice'.
But as the boat anchor guys say, 'real radios glow in the dark!'
