--part1_4e.13c7d3d5.27fb7ae1_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Wynand, Considering efficieny being around 65% in class B the amp probably takes 12 A at 240V mains through that VARIAC. I would not worry on sideband with about 30% dutycycle. Peak-current will be not more then 13 A. On RTTY or high-speed CW you might need to cool the VARIAC . 73 Peter --part1_4e.13c7d3d5.27fb7ae1_boundary Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
Wynand,

Considering efficieny being around 65% in class B the amp probably
takes 12 A at 240V mains through that VARIAC.
I would not worry on sideband with about 30% dutycycle.
Peak-current will be not more then 13 A.

On RTTY or high-speed CW you might need to cool the VARIAC .

73

Peter
--part1_4e.13c7d3d5.27fb7ae1_boundary-- -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/FAQ/amps Submissions: amps@contesting.com Administrative requests: amps-REQUEST@contesting.com Problems: owner-amps@contesting.com |
