Hello List Members,
I have some Aerovox oil filled caps. (Non Pcb). They are 1700VDC@80uf. =
They are 6"tall,4"wide,3" deep. They have 2 ceramic bushings on top with =
1/4-20 threads. My question is could I parallel 2 of them and then =
series 4 sets of 2 for 6800VDC@40uf. Would 100Kohm equalizing resistors =
25 watts work? Im not sure if they are low esr caps if that would make a =
differance. I used a method described on Mr. Measures Website where I =
used a variac. I adjusted the voltage to give a couple of amps of A.C. =
current thru one of the caps. After about an hour it was barely warm. =
Any help,comments or suggestions appreciated.
73,s Jeff
