 1-solid green........this is a tap on one of the primary windings. (not used in
the AL-1500)
   This would cut the HV down a few hundred volts, I suspect.
 2-brown with a white stripe........one side of one of the primary windings.
(the green wire is
    tapped up a bit from this end)
 3-solid brown......the other end of the above primary winding
 4-black with white stripe.......one end of the other primary winding
 5-solid black........the other end of the above primary winding
(the 2 reds are HV)

For 240 volts, the black and the brown/white are tied together, and
 the A.C. line feeds the black/white and brown leads through the step-start
relay. There is no info in the AL-1500 manual for 120 volt operation. You would
need a 30 amp line to run it on 120v.
