> What is a corona washer? Do I need or want one on my AL80A bandswitch? The anti-corona washer is on the switch terminal from the 160 padder doorknob. The AL80 series all have them. That is the highest voltage point on the switch, and the washer distributes the electric field more evenly reducing the voltage gradient around the sharp points of that contact. This is the same reason you do not want sharp solder points on other leads. 73 Tom |
