... wartime, etc.? Seems like a tube that got that
hot wouldn't last long under battle conditions....
I have the remains of an ex-military Marconi
transmitter which used a pair of 4-125 tubes. It has a
complicated heat/light sensor arrangement close to the
tubes as well as a viewing window.
