Clay -- The fly in the pie is that the stock, variable 150pF Tune-C has too much minimum-C for 50MHz operation. To fix this problem, one needs a 5 - 25pF unit -- which isn't going to have enough C below c. 21MHz.

a conversion to 6M for that position on the band switch (I still want
160M-15M). Looking at the schematic and some of the SB-220 conversion notes
that I've seen, it looks like it should be pretty straight forward. If
anyone has tried this, please let me know how it worked and if there were
any conversion issues.
