Hello to Ron and al.
    A shortcut instead of completely "rolling your own" from scratch might be 
that of contacting Ameritron and obtaining one or more chimneys used in their 
Al-800 series amps.
And at the same time, you might be able to purchase the small metal tabs (4 per 
tube) that hold the chimney in place around the tube where it sits up above the 
chassis.  Imo, the above would be a time saver rather than having to do the 
tiny things that take up so much time to fabricate.
